An electrical company operating throughout the PACA region

Founded in 2017, Électricité Concept Lumière (ECL) operates throughout the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. The company provides technical services for businesses and individuals, including:

  • general electrical work
  • Installation and upgrading of electrical networks
  • high and low voltage installations
  • indoor and outdoor lighting
  • installation of charging stations
  • air conditioning and heat pumps
  • Installation of alarms and video surveillance systems.

These activities involve numerous trips by technicians to different construction sites.

An essential fleet for technicians' travel

To carry out its operations, ECL relies on a fleet of 7 vehicles. The majority are utility vehicles used by technicians, in addition to one company car. The distances covered are significant. On average:

  • between 3,000 and 5,000 km per month per vehicle
  • between 200 and 300 km per day depending on the interventions.

The company's vehicles are purchased or financed through credit.

Why ECL chose a fleet management solution

Before using SoFLEET, the company was already working with a vehicle tracking solution. ECL then chose to equip its fleet with the SoFLEET solution in order to continue tracking vehicle usage and movements.

"I had many employees who left in their cars, and I never knew where they were so I could coordinate the interventions."

The SoFLEET solution was implemented around 2019-2020. Today:

  • 5 vehicles are equipped with a geolocation device
  • Two Renault vehicles are connected via manufacturer data.

Simplified vehicle and mileage tracking

The solution allows certain information to be obtained without having to contact technicians.

"Rather than repeatedly asking them to send me the mileage report, I can track the information directly on the platform."

In particular, it facilitates:

  • tracking the kilometers traveled
  • interview scheduling
  • locating a vehicle in case of breakdown.

There geolocation can also prove very useful in certain specific situations.

Features used daily

In its daily use, several features are particularly useful:

  • kilometer tracking
  • speed and driving alerts
  • fuel consumption monitoring
  • interview follow-up
  • monitoring of vehicle usage times.

This information allows us to track vehicle usage and maintenance.

A simple-to-use application

According to Stéphanie Mongruel, the application is easy to use:

"It's intuitive and easy to use. In my daily use, it allows me to manage my HR and vehicle tracking."

The application allows, in particular, quick access to:

  • to the history of journeys
  • to consumption data
  • to vehicle usage information.

Prospects for the evolution of the park

Like many companies, ECL is considering the evolution of its vehicle fleet.Vehicle electrification is under study, even if certain constraints inevitably exist.

"We are considering converting some vehicles to electric, but there are constraints related to range and charging stations."

For the moment, the company is rather considering hybrid solutions for certain vehicles, particularly for management vehicles.
