Connecting passenger transport
Titi Floris is a cooperative company for transport and personal support with 50% of clients from the public service. The main nature of its activity is to support and transport students with disabilities who are educated in traditional establishments. The 50% of private clients are generally retirement homes or associations from the world of disability.
Managing your vehicle fleet
The company, which extends to different regions, employs more than 2,200 salaried accompanying drivers and has a fleet of 2,600 vehicles with 5 to 9 seats, of which 1,000 are 9-seater minibuses (this is a very important type of vehicle in the Titi Floris fleet).
With more than 350 vehicles adapted and transformed (TPMR vehicles “Transport of Persons with Reduced Mobility”) to accommodate people in wheelchairs, the cooperative company is obliged to diversify with complementary activities (inherent in its economic model).
Passenger transport is an activity that is difficult to make profitable due to the precariousness of contracts, with calls for tenders of limited duration, strong competition and price consistency that must be maintained.
Titi Floris has therefore focused on managing its "rolling assets", since the cooperative company owns its fleet of vehicles, in order to have total control over their operation and the costs related to their use. This allows it to generate profitability, but also to develop additional commercial activities, such as renting out its vehicles during downtime (during weekends and school holidays).
Car sharing (a profitable and sustainable project)
In collaboration with the national Citiz network and by equipping some of its vehicles with car-sharing technology, Titi Floris has been able to position itself in a fast-growing activity, while respecting its values.
Did you know? 💡
In Nantes, Titi Floris co-founded the first local cooperative car-sharing structure and is its manager.
Finally, the cooperative company sells its own vehicles used to facilitate the renewal of its fleet and to have the most comfortable, safest and most modern vehicles possible.
Fleet management on a national scale
The cooperative company's headquarters are located in Nantes, but it has around twenty agencies throughout France, although the majority are located in the Grand Ouest. Since 2022, Titi Floris has also been expanding in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
In each agency there is a fleet manager with a volume of activity depending on the size of the vehicle fleet, between 100 and 300 vehicles. There are also dedicated contacts at the headquarters, which allows for monitoring of vehicle maintenance, etc.
Beyond the social dimension of the activity and the company's CSR policy, François-Xavier DUGUE, Head of Fleet Management activities at Titi Floris, is aware of the environmental impact of the activity and is involved in researching and implementing solutions to limit it as much as possible. Offering car sharing is part of it, but that's not all!
We try […] to bring employees together, to follow them, to recruit all types of profiles, to create moments of exchange, to work on training, prevention […]. We have the same realities, the same duties and the same needs. We carry the values of living better, working better, working differently, of purpose and social integration.
The cooperative society is governed by its members who share values identical to those of the founding CEO Boris COUILLEAU. As he declared for the newspaper Les Echos in 2018:
Fleet electrification: an ecological shift
The "greening" of the park is a subject that the cooperative society had already begun to explore in 2014, with the entry of electric vehicles, and this, even before the acceleration of European standards.
It goes without saying that technology is a strong lever for the ongoing experiments, for which Titi Floris is also calling on beta testers. There are V2G (Vehicle-To-Grid) electric charging stations, which allow vehicles to be charged and the electricity grid to be re-supplied with the recovered energy.
Because they are converted vehicles that transport many people on a daily basis, the vehicles are mostly thermal.
Even though the proportion of electric vehicles increases according to dealers, companies specializing in transport are pushed towards electric. However, beyond the regulations that are being put in place, the ecological will is not excluded.
There are models that are emerging and gradually, electric is making its nest. François-Xavier DUGUE informs us that he currently has 200 daily vehicles that run on electricity, within Titi Floris. But, to go further, there are not yet all the approvals necessary for transporting people with reduced mobility. It is a question of capacity, weight and autonomy.
We were the first private company to integrate the fully electric 9-seater minibus vehicle from Stellantis.
Using SoFLEET
A telematics solution allows for automatic vehicle data collection. Connecting vehicle data may seem simplistic these days, and yet it is the service, flexibility and exact response to expectations that makes the difference between one tool and another.
To date, Titi Floris has not yet activated all of its subscriptions across all of its fleets. It manages its vehicle fleets at its own pace, whether the cooperative company needs a rapid deployment or not.
The customer's favorite feature
Mileage remains the most popular data for managers!
On the other hand, François-Xavier DUGUE specifies that the journey report for random control (mandatory for the employer) and curfew alerts (for the use of a vehicle outside authorized periods) are very effective.
I know that this report of the journeys made allows our fellow operators to look at the journey times for invoicing per trip or per kilometer. SoFLEET has been able to meet our requirements in terms of deadline, flexibility and technical adaptability and even in terms of pricing.
The observed results
For thetour optimization from the transport operation, we have really had beneficial and interesting effects. I can follow and have the data quickly, it is a considerable time saving. Without this spontaneity we would only have the information on the one-off readings and it would be time-consuming. Also, the box connected to the OBD socket provides flexibility and simplicity of management internally when certain vehicles are not equipped with original equipment boxes, which happens when we are multi-brand, like us.
